REST0RATION & REORDERING
ST PETER & ST PAUL'S CHURCH BLANDFORD FORUM
WHAT ARE THE AIMS?

The project seeks to restore St Peter & St Paul's Church building to its former glory whilst seeking to regenerate it as a fully functioning community resource for both the Church and the Town.

Forms of worship and methods of teaching continually evolve and the Church community wishes to be able to adapt to the modern world without losing sight of our heritage.

This means taking a proactive look at all aspects of the building including access, heating, lighting, seating and audio visual arrangements.

The church's central position at the east end of the market place is a focal point for Christian worship and for community use within the town of Blandford Forum.

It needs to be warm & welcoming, accessible, comfortable and flexible, a place of peace, where those who enter encounter and experience God's love.

The Church is seeking (in no particular order)....

  • To make the building weather-tight and secure
  • To make access possible for those with disabilities
  • To ensure that the floor level is level and even
  • To develop an effective lighting scheme
  • To improve the flexibility of the seating in the Church
  • To provide modern washroom facilities accessible to all
  • To redecorate and refurbish the church
  • To achieve the above in a sustainable and environmental way
