RESTORATION & REORDERING OF ST PETER & ST PAUL'S CHURCH
BLANDFORD FORUM

SO HOW CAN I HELP?

£3.5 million is a large amount of money to find for any project, especially in times of financial constraint. The leadership of the Church (the PCC) believes that the building of St Peter and St Paul's is one that the town community love and want to see restored, as it is used almost weekly by schools and community groups, for Civic Services and concerts and more. The Church leadership believes, therefore, that this project will only be brought to completion by a strong partnership between the Church and the Community it seeks to serve.

There are essentially four parts to the anticipated funding:

  • Fundraising by the Church Community
  • Fundraising by the Town Community
  • Seeking support from Trust Funds set up for such purposes
  • Seeking grants from bodies such as the Heritage Lottery Fund

The reality is that some of these are likely to achieve a greater financial return than others, but there is a recognition that the project will not be completed without a committed partnership between Church and Town communities, in both fundraising and actively working through the many issues such a project will raise. The PCC has set up ...

The Friends of Blandford Forum Parish Church

It is planned that this group, consisting of members of both Church and Town communities will help to steer the project to success. Involvement by members of the group will vary according to the time people are able to offer but the hope is that the project will gain a momentum with the exciting prospect of a project brought to a successful conclusion.

It is recognised that some people are able to offer more time and energy than others and that each person offers different gifts and skills. The PCC believes that a project of this kind will only be brought to completion by harnessing every contribution and commitment that is available. There are a number of ways in which you could become involved in this exciting and important project... one is to fill in and return the response form to the Parish Office ... but the best way is to become a "Friend of BFPC".
